chris.frukacz: As I wrote in the Duke Nukem series forum here IGNs "review" takes the biscuit. That's why I stopped picking up games based on reviews online and/or in the mags.
Indeed, I have the feeling that part of what's going on here is that nobody paid the customary bribes to get positive reviews. I think that's what I'm seeing in some of these reviews where they aren't bad reviews in the conventional sense, they're bad reviews in that they aren't even reviews.
But, there's also the issue of people who seem to want the game to be a current game, when it sounds like it's more old school than that. Which is in some ways understandable, it was touted as being revolutionary. But the game was in production for a long time and probably is dated in some areas. But in a way it is, the environment is quite interactive, but the action itself is old school. For those that like that I think we're going to be happy.
Eventually, I think the game will end up here, assuming that they can get the rights to do it.
