Those After Reset screenshots sure are... yellow...

It looks nice and all that, but 900k is a pretty big hill to climb, I don't see that happening for an unknown developer.

jamyskis: It's almost certain that his supposed email contact was referring to the production of a game on a not-for-profit basis.
You mean like the current kickstarter? He is not selling a game, he is asking for money to develop one. He does claim that the game will be free, so no commercialization of it is happening. Not sure if asking for donations is considered commercial exploitation or not though.
Now I'm curious (sidenote : read 'concerned').
Is there a trend to make kickstarter projects out of probably copyrighted stuff without real authorization with the sole aim to get a lot of money, being shutdown and getting out safely ?

Well, he's receiving money for it, so that's likely to rub CBS up the wrong way in its own right.

I suppose you have to ask what the money is for. If it's exclusively for software and hardware, he may be in the clear. If he's using it to pay his living expenses during the production of the game, that's not likely to end well.

htown1980: I like the idea of this topic. I hope people post other deluisional kickstarters - like no-name developers, who have not made anything previously and nothing but an idea, asking for $800,000...
But... but... I even made a funny video and everything! You don't understand me! Nobody understands me!

Delusional KSs? What about this one: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1376466869/lore and the second try: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1376466869/lore-0

The others were terrible, but this stuff is just priceless. I love the spelling of " difference" as "different's" and his comment about how animating is really hard.

Seriously. Drop the cap to $2000 and take the money and run. It'll be a small reward for purely stupid people (of course, look at the $$$ put into the game -- all high-priced backers [i.e. the devs]).

Good stuff. Thanks. :D

htown1980: Gotta mention this one here (courtesy of gandalf.nho):

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2146421095/after-reset-rpg

$900,000 for a game made by someone whose only qualification appears to be an MBA in marketing (which seems ironic given how badly this kickstarter will perform).
the 900k not counting, the fallout feel just might be there. Also has pretty valid looking steam greenlight page and whatnot.

..no idea if any will come of it, but i certainly wouldnt mind.

Wow, is that ever shit. That 3D looks like it hails from the early days of CD games when every fricking title had to have pre-rendered 3D characters and they all looked like they came from an unstable alpha of Blender.

At least it's backed by concept sketches that looks like they were lifted from dead deviantart pages and some truly awful game concepts. What's the pledge level to get the developers to stop?
Shouldn't that German Director's (Uwe Boll?) next project be in this thread.
+1 to this topic! The KSs posted so far look like real winners :)

It was cancelled and subsequently deleted.

I missed that, why was it cancelled (and deleted)?

Because it was shit.

On a more serious note, Boll claims that he will try again later. I hope he doesn't, though.

The campaign was canceled because very few people were willing to donate money to Uwe Boll, so he kind of just gave up. The page is still up but doesn't show up if you search for it:
