I'll be waiting for the GoTY version, if I'm convinced to buy it at all. EA's DLC policy is little more attractive than their 2008 DRM policy. That said, it does look very good. I just hope it's less of a painfully linear third person corridor shooter than the first.
I'll get it eventually, but I need to upgrade my rig first to handle it (I'll be using it on the PC). Mass Effect 1 was starting to having framerate issues on my old hardware. Also, I can't connect to Bioware servers due to living on a uni campus and having port blocks and firewalls up the wazoo, so I'm incapable of accessing the DLC for dragon age, so I'm assuming I'll have the exact same issue for Mass Effect 2, which might push my purchase of it until like summer of 2011 when I move.

PoSSeSSeDCoW: IIRC, the only DRM the Steam version of Mass Effect uses is Steam.

'k, thanks.

Navagon: I'll be waiting for the GoTY version.

I'll wait too, and get it with a nice discount.
But sadly Dragon Age and ME2 will receive DLCs for like 2 years, it will took some time for them to release all the content in one goty ed. That's the new BioWare. :(
And ME2PC is available for piracy :p.
Looks like two DVDs, for those who were wondering why this game is so much shinier than Dragon Age :p
Ah well. I can wait a week.

Going to be amazing
The DRM for ME1 is a lot better than it was. Revokable Securom activations is something I can live with.
If you have Steam version, I don't know how it works but you could download the revoke tool and see if it detects ME on your system etc. That way you could do it manually before you uninstall via Steam anyway.
Got ME2 on pre-order from Gamersgate.
a) it's fecking annoying that it's leaked, and GG don't release it to download for up to 8 days (I don't know whether they release it early or what). And doubly annoying that the version that's leaked is the disk version.
b) leading on from this, it's 14GB?! Christ.
14.35 for the discs, not sure what it installs to. That COULD be the international version (so extra languages), but who knows.
I'm awaiting my copy with bated breath, as well. I even sprang for the Collector's Edition, and I very, very rarely bother with such things.
Mass Effect 2 looks awesome.
I'm getting a copy for my 360 and then I'm going to get the collectors edition for the PC when i have a computer that can actually play it.
I still gotta rebuy and play the 1st game. My dog got a hold of and chewed up my disc right after I was able to go to different planets
counting down the days for this game loved the first one cant wait to continue with my shepherd. I chose a female shepherd as the voice acting is fantastic.

Jennifer Hale = yum. Yes. Very much so.
Though, to be fair, Mark Meer's certainly no slouch, either.

I HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!
Also, my dealer decided it would be fun to snort from a circle of coke for a change, destroying the disk of Pippa Funnell: The Stud Farm Inheritance in the process. I was well gutted.

Coelocanth: but they've at least finally provided a revoke tool.

taczillabr: One question that I have:
How do I revoke activations on ME from Steam? Just uninstalling the game from the steam client automatically revokes one activation, or what?

As noted by someone else, the only DRM on the Steam version is Steam. No SecuROM, so you don't need to revoke activations.
