1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

GOG Version 1.1.5
Win7 x64 SP1
Run as admin.

When I try to update to 1.11 or Verify\Repair I get this message;

The game starts fine.

I'm not on " beta overlay channel".
I "can see The Witcher 3 in your LIBRARY section".

BKGaming: Devs can we get like some kind of update on Galaxy's progress please? Things seemed to have gone quite once again, even if were not getting much in the way of Galaxy updates... updates on your current progress would go along way honestly. :/
Sorry for that folks - I guess this needs more than a single word of explanation.

As to the delay in releasing a new version of Galaxy Client - for now I can only say that we needed to revisit a crucial piece of our codebase to allow for better user experience and more games on GOG in the future. It means no Galaxy Client releases for at least a couple of weeks, but the end effect should be worth it. We'll get back to regular bug-fixing and feature-adding after that.

As for not posting any changelogs about the updates you noticed - well, Galaxy is more than the Galaxy Client. It's also the multiplayer components, achievements, in-game overlay etc - those parts are being updated regularly. We usually release everything at the same time - the client components, the multiplayer ones, the whole thing. Since Galaxy Client is not being released, some releases of the other components where not properly announced, no changelog entry was added, the version number was not increased etc. We'll try to improve on that. For now - I'm updating the changelog in the first post.

Kamamura: The greatest problem of this client is that its process periodically freezes, just hangs in task manager together with the helper process, is unkillable, cannot be reopened, and generally only reboot solves the immediate problem. This has been so across multiple versions of the client.
Does this happen during game installation or updating?

Could you submit your issue to our bug tracking system: http://mantis.gog.com/bug_report_page.php and attach your logs (instructions are provided in the link) from right after the issue occurs? This will help us isolate the issue and find a solution.

DracoMagister: Any words about the Linux version? It's been almost a year Galaxy was released. I know is not the top priority, but a year later is a lot.
We don't have any dates for the Linux version of Galaxy yet.
GOG Galaxy is not only the client application that you use on your computer. It's also a set of functionalities that game developers can integrate into their games, so things like achievements, leaderboards, a whole multiplayer platform and many more.

We're hard at work all the time to add new functionalities and features, but not every one of them is visible immediately after launch. Some features require games that will be build on top of them. And of course we have to launch support for those features first, before game developers will be able to use them. This also requires us to "catch" developers in the right moment in their release cycle, so that they can still have time to integrate Galaxy.

On the Galaxy client side, as I think we've mentioned before, we're working on major redesign of our backend systems responsible for game installation and updates. Unfortunately this is not a very "sexy" feature, as benefits of it will not be instantly visible. But it will allow us to start reducing the size of game updates, improve stability and download speeds, and also release updates in a more timely manner, as game developers will be able to automate integration with Galaxy. It is a necessary step to be able to build new feature on a stable base. This new system is the result of all the data we've gathered during the beta.

Once the next Galaxy client update is ready (sorry, no ETA yet) we will resume "normal service" and move on to a nice user facing feature updates.
Today we've released a bug fix update to the game overlay available in The Witcher 3. If you've disabled the overlay previously due to random crashes you can now try it again. As always we appreciate your feedback.

If you encounter any further issues with the overlay please let us know, with some details about your computer (OS, graphics card, drivers version). You can also disable the overlay at any time, as for now it's listed as a DLC for The Witcher 3, click "More" dropdown in Galaxy game view for TW3 and go to "Configure" screen, there you can enable/disable the overlay.

We will be rolling this out to selected developers in the first phases, but in general, yes, that's the idea. The more automated the whole process is, the more timely release we can have, and of course for new games getting updates on time is key.

You can try to disable to overlay, to check if it's causing the issue. Please go to Galaxy -> Witcher 3 view -> More -> Configure and disable the "Overlay" DLC.

If it will help please let us know details of your computer (OS, graphics card, drivers version, DX version) so we can try to replicate the issue.

Also, this might be something I'm missing, but when a friend messages me on Galaxy, I don't see it pop up. Is it supposed to? I'm playing Witcher 3 at the moment and on multiple occasions I have seen chat messages only after I exit the game. Am I doing something wrong with notifications or the overlay?
Notification about chat messages will be enabled in the next update, so in the next couple of weeks. For now only achievements notifications are fully supported.

Note that Galaxy uses a CDN to serve files so there is a multitude of servers out there and they may not be in synchronization so if this actually works for some user out there, it is not an indication that it works for everyone as the errors show.

Last time I reported one of these, it was magically fixed within 8 hours or so presumably by a good GOGger having his or her morning coffee (I presume), so hopefully this one will get sorted out soon too. :) Preferably with a 2 second <reply> "Fixed, thanks." or similar. :)
