GR00T: If this is what they're doing, it will backfire in my case. The more they try to subtly or not-so-subtly force me to use a piece of software I don't feel I need, the less likely I'll be to use it.

fortune_p_dawg: indeed, same here, 100%. it'd be nice to get an official response from a blue on this.

Agreed

Community Managers are like cops, never around when you want them. :p
The Blues are on vacation but somehow I think if they weren't, we would still be getting silence because on this matter, silence is going to be their only answer.

I heard don't expect any Blues in here working until Thursday.

I don't know about Holidays here or anywhere. :P I don't even own a calendar.
We experience how futile the attempt to tack on new bits of software to the old site and forum really is. The solution is an entirely new site and forum. Plus notifications, sans reputation.

BenKii: About a week ago when Gog introduced the new navigation system, we lost notifications for game updates, friend requests, forum and PM replies. At first I thought this was a bug but after a week I'm convinced Gog intended to leave it out. I've since created a Community Wishlist Entry in an effort to let Gog know we still want and like this feature. At the time of this writing, it stands at 35 votes. I ask that anyone who liked this feature vote for it and sound off in the comments below. If enough of our voices are heard, Gog will have no choice but to bring this feature back.

Until Gog can resolve this issue, you can use Barefoot_Monkey's Barefoot Essentials script to get the notifications back. Go here to read up on how to install it in your browser.
Doesn't it work fine on Galaxy, if so that would be your answer.

I've heard from others that notifications work in Galaxy but I don't want to install and use and "optional" client. I'd much prefer using the website as I've always done.

Thats really the point, they want everyone using the client.
The GOGBear is a harsh master. The GOGBear does not listen... or talk much, to be honest.

I think it has other plans of its own in store for us.
The votes are up to 70 now! That's pretty good but we're gonna need a lot more votes if we want to get Gog's attention.

Voted. I really hope GOG will fix the notifications soon.
You know, they're probably working on a new, better version of the notification system.

For Galaxy.
