Grargar: Official response by elcook:

Just wanted to drop in and give you some update about the forum & chat notifications. Yes, we're aware they are missing in the web version. It's because we decided to work on those from the grounds up. For the time being they are working in Galaxy only, but we'll bring it back to the web eventually. Sorry for the inconvenience.

RIP old notification system.
Good to know that it's coming back, although I think for such an integral feature it shouldn't just disappear like that and for long. Still voted.
Voted.

Well I thought at first it is a bug, but I am not sure anymore.

By the way, I thought we have a community manager now, does Fables only show up to ban and lock threads? I thought a community manager is also there as a bridge for the community to GOG? It is about time a blue comments on this.
Voted...[nevermind] ...

Grargar stated in an earlier post that a blue responded to this issue on another thread. Link below.

Thank you very much for the update, Sir and Trilarion.

Neverthless the wording is a bit off from the blue and I get the impression they would like to have it forgotten that notifications ever existed without Galaxy.

BUMP
Even though Gog said they were working on bringing back notifications, they still haven't marked the wish "in progress" yet. That means we need to get more votes!

Votes stand at 150. Let's shoot for 200 to see if that changes anything.
It's been quite awhile now and Gog still hasn't brought back the notifications. There are at least 167 people who want it back.

Don't stand idly by, let your voice be heard and vote!
Voted! This is one of those things that you take for granted... but when you lose them you realize how useful and necessary they were.

If they have their top men working on it it might take anywhere between a few weeks and a few months. I still hope for something better though.
I've been using the Barefoot Essentials user script for a couple weeks now and can say I love it a lot. It puts back all the notifications and does a whole lot of other neat stuff. All credit goes to its creator Barefoot_Monkey. If you see his avatar around, be sure to throw him a +1 for all the good work he's done. :)

And if you'd like to try this user script yourself, you can go to this link and follow the instructions on how to install in your browser.

I would still like to get native notifications back to the website so please keep voting guys. We've got 187 votes so far. Let's soar higher!
