We've just been informed by Cinemaware that they have announced a digital distribution agreement with GOG.com, the leading source of DRM-free games. Through this agreement GOG.com will be providing a selection of incredible classics that many of us grew up with; one such game being Defender of the Crown. What's more Cinemaware has mentioned that not only will the DOS version be sold, but also the very first Amiga games will also be sold with the DOS versions through GOG.

this is what I call great news
Awesome!
Fan-freaking-tastic! Bring on those beautiful classics!

EDIT: And how wonderful if this opens the Amiga floodgates in the process...

Still doesn't make up for the loss of Nordic, but really great news. It makes me wonder how the Amiga versions will be emulated.

Also, it's back!

That would be amazing, there are so many incredible Amiga games in the offering that were every bit as good as modern based Indie games today!
Great to see Cinemaware come here (hoping for Rocket Ranger)!

About the Amiga versions: I believe it when I actually see it. Would be amazing though.

I wish they'd go to London EuroGamer EXP so I can say HEY AWESOME DEVS! :D
ooo! "It Came from the Desert!" was awesome!
Amiga Games! Yes! Finally!

I still am waiting for the day that GOG starts doing Amiga games. So many classics.
good news indeed.
I am very curios how they are going to handle the Amiga versions.

This, frankly, is the reason why gOg should exist, nothing else.

Maybe they won't be - maybe they'll just include the Amiga disk images with the DOS versions as bonus content and it's up to you what you do with them - potential way around the legalities of BIOS images and the Amiga versions of that era being better than the DOS ones, for the enthusiasts at least

Maybe GOG finally made a deal with Cloanto, the developers behind Amiga Forever and C64 Forever. Cloanto has the right to sell and use Kickstarter for Amiga Forever. From following thread Cloanto was interested to deal up with GOG:
